Dr. Vassilios Damiras is a historian, political scientist, and international security specialist with extensive experience in geopolitics, international relations, counterterrorism, cybersecurity, defense, risk assessment, crisis management, and strategic analysis. His academic background includes doctoral studies (ABD) at Loyola University Chicago in History and International Relations, with specialization in European, Balkan, Russian, and Middle Eastern history. He also holds an M.A. in History from Loyola University Chicago, an M.A. in Political Science from Illinois State University, and a B.A. in Political Science, History, and Spanish from the University of Findlay. His professional experience has included leadership positions with the Thucydides Foundation, Presidio, STAREGISTER, and GSFC, as well as work involving international security and geopolitical analysis. He currently serves as Secretary of the Conformity Assessment Society (CAS).

The Silent Gods of Aixone is one of those books that stays with you long after you've finished the final page.

The writing is vivid, immersive, and beautifully descriptive, making it effortless to picture the world of Aixone and become deeply invested in its characters.

From the very first page, I could clearly see the Kallias estate, the endless olive groves, the vineyards, and the sparkling sea. Perhaps it resonated with me because I grew up in a small village in Greece surrounded by olive trees. Perhaps it was because I lived for nearly twenty years in Glyfada, where ancient Aixone once stood. Or perhaps it is simply because the author has a remarkable gift for bringing places to life. Rather than feeling like you're reading a novel, you feel as though you're walking beside the characters, sharing their joys, struggles, and everyday lives.

What impressed me even more is how faithfully the novel captures its historical setting. Although it is a work of fiction, it remains authentic to the era it portrays. It is clear that the author invested an extraordinary amount of research into recreating Ancient Greece, seamlessly weaving historical detail into the narrative. Along the way, I found myself learning a great deal about daily life, customs, and society in Ancient Greece without ever feeling like I was reading a history lesson.

This is a beautifully written, deeply atmospheric novel that combines compelling storytelling with historical authenticity. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical fiction, Ancient Greece, or simply a good story.
